UJC Annual Campaign

The UJCVP is proud to be a part of the global Jewish world as a member of the national Jewish Federations of North America system. JFNA represents and serves 150 Jewish federations and 400 independent Jewish communities across North America. It reflects the values of social justice and human rights that define the Jewish people and the values of caring that transform lives and perform miracles.

Through our overseas partners, The Jewish Agency for Israel and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, JFNA represents and serves one of the world’s largest and most effective networks of social service providers and programs. JFNA, JAFI, and JDC professionals and volunteers – dedicated to safeguarding and enhancing Jewish life - help meet the needs of all people, Jews and non-Jews, wherever they live.

As part of this world wide network the UJCVP engages in an Annual Campaign which allows us to maintain our membership with the JCC Association,  fulfill our mission of safeguarding the viability and growth of our local community, while supporting our Jewish brothers and sisters around the world.

Specifically our campaign allows us to:

  • Provide essential Jewish Community Center operating funds supporting seniors, youth, early childhood, community Hebrew school, summer camp, community relations council, and much more.
  • Provide support to other crucial UJC beneficiary agencies such as Jewish Family Service,  CNU and William & Mary Hillels, and others.
  • Provide funds for our overseas partners JAFI and JDC who in turn support vital needs in Israel and around the world.

This annual campaign is planned and executed by a dedicated group of volunteers and professionals who make up the UJC Campaign Council and lead in our efforts to preserve Jewish life here and abroad. The dozens of solicitors who volunteer endless hours to work on the campaign are committed to reaching as many community members as possible, to encourage all of you to support our community vision. When contacted by a volunteer, please answer their calls. Meet with them and dig deep in your pockets to help us reach this year’s campaign goal. Whether your gift is $36,000 or $36, each gift counts!

UNITED JEWISH COMMUNITY ENDOWMENT, INC.

How to Establish a UJCVP Endowment Fund

Gifts to the endowment can be made today or in the future. One of our various fund types should meet the charitable goals of every member of our community.

Outright donations of cash, stock, insurance or real estate can be used to establish a current, named endowment fund.

A deferred gift, from which the donor or any other beneficiary receives income for life, can also be made.

A common way to contribute, of course, is of an endowment fund can be broad or specific.

Donors can support general community needs, a particular interest or agency, or a specific program.

One of our various fund types – unrestricted, restricted, philanthropic or a supporting UJCVP Endowment Fund – should meet the charitable goals of every member of our Jewish community.

What are the UJCVP Endowment Fund Options?

Gifts to endowment can take many forms, including lifetime giving, bequests, charitable gift annuities and insurance policies.

Gifts of Cash – Establishing your fund within the UJC Endowment Fund using cash is as simple as writing a check.

Gifts of Stock – Donors enjoy a two-fold advantage in donating long-term appreciated assets: they avoid capital gains tax and receive a charitable tax deduction for the full fair market value of the asset.

Life Insurance Policy – Using a life insurance policy insures our Jewish future in a unique and meaningful way.  This method can be very cost-effective, especially for the younger donor.

Retirement Plans – These can be powerful tools for endowing a charitable legacy to the community while avoiding heavy estate and income taxes.

Real Estate & Investment Properties – For some donors, gifts of real estate may be the most convenient way to make a meaningful gift as they continue to support the work of the UJC Endowment Fund.

Other Options – There are many other ways to make a gift of almost any size.

Did You Know...?

A gift of endowment ensures that your generosity and vision will have an impact that extends far beyond your lifetime.
