Every summer, the UJC hires two Israeli counselors (schlichim) to be camp counselors at Camp Chaverim from the Jewish Agency for Israel. These outstanding Israeli counselors, who have completed their army service in Israel, create a cultural

You can have a more enriching summer by becoming a host family for one week. You have the opportunity to host the young man, the young woman, or both for one week. The counselor will become a special part of your family, enjoying meals, activities, relaxation and playtime together. There are no dietary restrictions. The counselor will not have a car and will need a ride to camp daily as well as a packed lunch that he/she can prepare to take to camp.

We have divided the needed dates into one (I) week sessions (the first being a bit longer because they have just arrived) and are looking for families to open their homes. You do not need to have children in summer camp to become a host. Available dates are: June 17th-27th, June 27th -July 4th  July 4th -11th, July 11th- 18th,  July 18th- 25th, July 25th-August 1st, August 1st- August 11th.
